Never knew she supported Pol Pot? Don’t make sense either what with him being as far left communist as you could get, you sure?

She did so many wrong things I thought, privatising the utilities, selling off council houses, makes you wander had she not done so would the UK have the energy and affordable housing crisis it does now?

She did at least have pride in being British and of our heritage and history, something so many modern day politicians seem to be embarrassed about.

And I bet she could define a woman! In her case with 2 very big bollocks………

"That means Thatcher would have had to block an honour to a very famous (for being a fat northern cunt) political opponent for, um, 'reasons'."

yes, those "reasons" that in the day were swept under the carpet and not seen as serious.

If people can look back at the BBC for protecting Saville etc... surely they can look at Maggie?

The reality is, in those days, rich and powerful people doing dodgy stuff was ignored by many. We even see it in the institution of football.

But the courts dont care about context. It was all illegal then as it is now and retrospectively they still find these institutions guilty.

So I dont think Maggie should escape that scrutiny either.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that neither the Rochdale Alternative Press (Wolfie Smith with a John Bull printing kit) or Private Eye would have been regarded as a reliable source at that time.

This is your typical AfM ploy.

1) Make a wildly exaggerated claim that would be totally acceptable at one of your many universities' GaySoc.

2) When challenged, deny it.

3) When pressed, continue to deny it whilst simultaneously attempting to justify it.

4) Dig yourself ever deeper into the shit.

Just to be completely clear, 'no reasonable prospect of conviction' means 'will definitely be found not guilty'. In this case that's 'definitely not guilty of an alleged offence twenty years ago'. That means Thatcher would have had to block an honour to a very famous (for being a fat northern cunt) political opponent for, um, 'reasons'. You would have been all over that, as well.

"What exactly was Thatcher told? Surely The Times told us."

ok, lets ask the BBC

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31789827

"It includes one undated letter marked secret, from Lord Shackleton, a member of the Political Honours Scrutiny Committee.
This was sent to Mrs Thatcher - who died in 2013 - and included a warning of "the risk that such an award could give rise to adverse criticism".
Lord Shackleton wrote that police had investigated Smith in 1970 for "indecent assault against teenage boys" between 1961 and 1966, but the director of public prosecutions (DPP) had decided "there was no reasonable prospect of conviction".
He went on to say that the case was reported in the Rochdale Alternative Press and Private Eye.
"One may regret this kind of press reporting but it could be revived if an award to Mr Smith were made," he added.
Lord Shackleton said it would be "slightly unfortunate" if this "episode" stopped Smith receiving the honour.
However, he added: "We felt it right to warn the honours system would be at some risk if the award were to be made and announced."

"no reasonable prospect of conviction" ... mmm, not "he in no way did this shit.."

Again, believe what makes you sleep better...

You now seem to be equating gullibility or wrongly disbelieving something with paedophilia.

You seem suddenly very taken with MI5. What exactly was Thatcher told? Surely The Times told us. And was it a matter of public record or not.

Branded.

not justifying.. rather explaining.

Be a bit funny for the Times to publish an article saying she was warned and it not be true. The warning seems to be on government record.

Now whether she thought that the warning was wrong as there was lack of evidence, well.. I'd let you judge that one in hindsight.

Generally, I think our security services are pretty good generally in finding these things out ahead of time.

But as usual, believe what you need to believe to make you sleep at night!

A couple of posts ago you denied you were comparing Thatcher to paedophiles. Now you are attempting to justify why you did.

Furthermore, there was no serious evidence against Smith until 16 years after her death and 22 years after the end of her Premiership. More or less the same timings are the case in Jimmy Savile's offences.

"Thatcher ignored Smith abuse
MARGARET THATCHER was warned Cyril Smith had been accused of sexually abusing eight boys before she granted the Liberal MP a knighthood, government papers reveal.

The release of the documents follows evidence that she ignored warnings about other prominent paedophiles, including Sir Peter Morrison, a close aide, and the former diplomat Sir Peter Hayman.

Thatcher also insisted on a knighthood for Jimmy Savile, the BBC presenter exposed after his death as one of Britain’s most prolific abusers.

According to the government papers released under freedom of information laws, the political honours scrutiny committee (PHSC) raised concerns when Smith was nominated for a “K” in 1988."

And when I meant "not comparing" I was strictly talking about people that were loved who subsequently garnered bad reputations and how those reputations can disappear over time. The fact that they were both nonce related is unfortunate but doesnt take way from the central point. For the record, Margaret Thatcher was not a peodaphile ... In case that isnt clear to you ... lol

'Not comparing Thatcher to nonces ..'

You directly compared Thatcher to nonces, as anyone with a pair of eyes can see. Now you compound that by suggesting she was a nonce supporter. You don't have a shred of evidence for that. If your evidence is 'she really liked Jimmy Savile' then half the nation are paedophiles.

The rest is just the usual rubbish.

The guy caught throwing eggs at the statue is a lecturer at leicester University which just goes to show that our universities are a breeding ground for left wing militants brainwashing vulnerable ( stupid ) students.

Will he get sacked or reprimanded? No.
He will end up being promoted like that racist Ghopal.
